Five comforting, if odd, thoughts
- Just the other day, out with a friend at the pub, he made an interesting remark: "This beer tastes like sour cereal". Little did we know that there was just as much chance of the beer having gone off in the pub as there was that he was in fact sampling an ancient Egyptian brewmasters' ale.
- It could be worse. Like: "Oh my God! I've just been bitten by an American rattlesnake and I've only minutes to live! Quick, fly to Australia and find some Australian sheep's blood!"
- Here's an argument for looking at the glass as half full instead of half empty. Elephants rampage through your restaurant, destroying everything? No problem, reopen as "Restaurant where elephants have been" to capitalize on your misfortune.
- Who says the cold war is over? Not while the two sides continue to steal each other's lakes!
- And finally for those of us who have suffered the stampede of commuters at Oxford Circus on a friday afternoon, there is finally somewhere to go to find relief, if only temporarily.
