Dr Chris is a public intellectual and strategic advisor. His work sets out to positively impact the lives of the world’s 8 billion people. His analyses is informed by empirical research on the intersections of emerging technologies, sustainability, human behaviour, risk, ethics, governance, productivity and innovation. His focus is on public and media engagement with global issues impacting and shaping our current and future socio-economic and socio-cultural lives.

His projects have been covered in over 400 media outlets worldwide including extensive segments in BBC News, Financial Times, CNN, Wall Street Journal, Globo, BBC Click, the Daily Mail, and China Central TV (CCTV). He works closely in an advisory capacity with a global roster of C-level executives and holds numerous UK-based non-exec, trustee, and board positions including Chairman of technology and brand practices at Edelman, the world's largest global communications marketing firm, serving as an Industrial Strategy Officer for the World Economic Forum (WEF) focused on the Future of Energy, Materials and Infrastructure, innovation adviser for the fast-growing digital product innovators at Red Badger, and founding member of the BIMA AI Council, working to demystify, clarify, unify and drive the UK’s agenda on AI.

His current research focuses on sustainable growth and energy transition and futures including accelerating the path to net zero and green economic growth. He continues to explore workforce skills and organisational competitiveness strategies and the human impact of artificial intelligence (AI) through fieldwork experiments with Microsoft, Automation Anywhere, IBM Watson, and IPSoft Amelia. Other high-impact studies include benchmarking the vulnerabilities of global corporate leaders to key cybersecurity challenges with NASDAQ, leading the world's largest emotion-tracking driving experiment in 13 countries with Shell, Reinventing Loyalty with Adobe, and developing the Science of Common Ground for Heineken's award-winning Open your World campaign. Other current research areas are electrification and sustainability, circular economy, machine relations and ethics, diversity, feminist techno-science, voice interfaces, smart cities, blockchain, wearables, Industry 4.0, and IoT.

Dr Chris shares his experiences and speaks regularly at public and corporate events with dispatches from the front lines of innovation. He is a certified PMP, PRINCE2, AGILE, and SCRUM project manager and writes regular guest op-ed columns for CNN, Huffington Post, and CityAM.
